Karate Newfoundland and Labrador (Karate NL) is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit sport organization dedicated to growing and supporting karate in our province. Membership fees help us deliver vital programs and services to athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs.
What Your Membership Includes
- Full insurance coverage for training and sanctioned events
- Note: Individual members who are not properly registered with Karate NL are not eligible to complete at sanctioned events and clinics as they are not covered by our insurance policy.
- Access to tournaments, seminars, and provincial team tryouts
- Eligibility for travel bursaries and athlete funding
- NCCP coaching and officiating development
- National-level representation through Karate Canada
- Safe, certified, community-focused programming
- Access to funding opportunities provided by Sport NL, Recreation NL and other government sponsored funding. Details can be found on our Funding Opportunities website.
Annual Fee Details
- Amount: $40 per individual member per year. $150 per member club per year.
- $22 of the $40 individual member fees goes to Karate Canada. The remaining $18 goes toward the cost of the required insurance but does not cover all of it.
- The remaining cost of the insurance is covered by Karate NL’s Annual Operating Grant.
- Membership Year: January 1 – December 31
