On behalf of the member dojos, Karate NL is pleased to announce that its application for an annual operating grant for the 2024-25 training year has been accepted by the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This $7,000 will be used to help fund KNL’s general operations, as well as our athlete, officials, and coach development programs.

We would like to thank the Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation and his staff for their consideration and acceptance of this application.

We would also like to thank Past President Nathaniel Besso for his work on this application as he offered to see the application through to the end after his resignation in June. These applications require a considerable effort to compile the necessary information to put the 100 page package together for submission and we thank Nathaniel for his efforts.
